Sermon: Chosen for a Reason

Theme: God had chosen Israel for a reason – to witness to the one true God. Amos’ oracle reminds the Israelites of the challenge and the cost of being chosen by God. Instead of choosing to love and worship God they have chosen to worship other gods. Because of their choice God is jealous for their love. In that covenant of love God must respond to their idolatry.
